These are a few of my favorite things...

Steven told me last night that he had some trouble in assisting Kyra while finding a Mother's Day present for me. He asked her what she wanted to get me several times and she just kept saying she didn't know. So he thought he'd simplify and suggest that they get a gift certificate for me. He asked her, "What store should we get Mommy a gift certificate for so she can go shop there?" Kyra naturally said, "Wal-Mart!!!" Daddy tried to clarify a little a said, "Well, let's think, what is Mommy's favorite store?" To which she again replied, "Mommy loves Wal-Mart!" Amused, he then tried another angle and said, "Well, how about a restaurant? What is Mommy's favorite place to eat?" Kyra got very excited about this one and enthusiastically exclaimed, "Taco Bueno!!!" The store and restaurant she chose are not necessarily typical Mother's Day fare, but I've got to give it to her, the girl knows her mama. =)

haha..too funny. I posted a very similar Trev and Parker story yesterday! I guess 3 1/2 year olds are very practical little people. Who would have thought?

Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day with 2 precious ones.

We received your package and loved it. Parker thought his birthday came early:) Love you and miss you.

Do you have a twang yet? JK

What a perfect day - shopping at Walmart, walking across the parking lot to eat at Taco Bueno and an after dinner gaze at the beauty of McDonald Lake construction with the dust settling in beautiful shades of pink over the SouthWest library. Nothing like it!
Actually while driving down Coulter the other day I noticed all the cars halting in every direction - a mommy duck with her little ducklings were making their way from Taco Bueno across Coulter to where their former lake house used to be. Pretty cute!

Oh and Nicole, I don't know you except from this blog, Angela sounds like such a local now it is almost scary. She has totally taken on the "become all things to all people" mantra. When she finally gave in and changed those plates on her car it was all or nothing! Now if we can just get her to stop wearing the Wranglers, Ropers and hat to church....
Tee-hee - I'm getting a visual!

Noooooo... not Ange!!! A local??? Tell me it isn't so Qualls!

Actually, I am VERY happy that you have made Amarillo your home. The visual of you in spurs and big hair is a bit much to handle but everything else is good change.

I miss you. I think I also miss the fact that our kids may never really know each other and I know that they would love each other and get along. How do you and Steven feel about arranged marriages? I also miss the fact that you and I think alike on so many parenting issues and right now I have few friends who I share that with.

I pray that God gives you wisdom and patience as you guide Sienna and Kyra everyday. You are doing an amazing job and I am so proud of the choices that you and Steven have made in regards to your family.

Please refrain from any "Hee-hawing" and I think we can continue a beautiful long distance friendship:)

Hey Nicole, you may want to ask Angela about the new "hair salon" she spotted in Canyon yesterday. We think it will be the perfect place to provide Texas size hair!

Ya'll just think you're sooo funny. =) I'll have you know that I've had Texas sized hair before, but it was in the 9th grade. If you would like evidence, last I checked, my dad was still carrying the picture in his wallet for kicks and occasional embarrassment. So if I do indeed decide to go back to that era, seeing as my hair, as curly as it is, does tease up quite well, I do reckon that I'll be fixin' to mosey on down to the Buffalo Gals & Beaus Salon to get me a "proper" Texas haircut. And yes Arlene, it was all or nothing with my license plates...I replaced the driver's seat in my car with a saddle, and the personalized "Yeeeeee-haw!" plates I ordered should be in any day.....

I have a few college pics in the archives and I must say, our hair has come a long way in even the last decade. Although I'm sure, Buffalo Gals and Beaus Salon offers the highest end of quality hair care services, I do believe The Big State Hair Emporium might be a better choice.

Address: 2800 Civic Cir, Amarillo, TX 79109

Might want to check it out during your free time...They may even have a mama/daughter deal and you and Kyra can sport matching BIG do's... be sure to take some pics...
